Dude, anyone with half a brain would find Denji obnoxious, specially because Fuji keeps framing him as someone we should root for without making him sympathetic at all, suffering on itself doesn't make someone Worth of sympathy.

That's how you read.
Denji is different from other Shounen MCs that's true, but that trait alone doesn't elevate his character beyond that of Fuji's lazy writing.
He is still someone without any fucking agency on his life or the plot, a passive "Main character" who doesn't even have a clear goal and just gets dragged along with the plot, his morality is bad but it could work if his writer have two fucks about him.

Fujimoto is just writing for the sake of it.
Part 2 is already longer than part 1 but almost nothing has happened so far.
We know Fuji can plan ahead and play with themes, part 1 was all about Toxic motherhood and how that's reflected in Denji's struggle for self determination and growth while exploring his relationship with Makima.
Part 2 has none of that.
One arc will have Yoru reflecting over his role as "mother" of other devils (something that came out of nowhere btw) next we'll be looking at Denji having YET ANOTHER MELTDOWN over the consequences of his actions while Yoru completely forgets about her past introspection to just lusts over Denji's cock and helplessness.
Then the resolution of said arc will have absolutely nothing to do with any theme touched in said arc... And the next one will try to sloppily touch on Denji's mortality...by telling us that a random NPC 100 chapters ago that died was actually super duper important and had a deep relationship with another primal devil (who also came out of nowhere)
Even if we ignore Denji's character regression part 2 is just pathetic and keeps bleeding readers left and right
