Day 12
I finally challenged the last Gym Leader in Johto—Clair of Blackthorn City. And wow… she’s not just powerful, she’s stunning. Honestly, I wouldn't mind if she stepped on me. But fantasies aside, the battle was real, and despite her dominance, I came out on top. Ampharos opened strong, paralyzing her Gyarados with Thunder Wave, then amping up with Charge before blasting it down with a single Discharge. Gyarados followed up by freezing out two of her Dragonairs using Ice Fang. Her Kingdra proved trickier, but Gyarados endured and brought it down with well-timed Dragon Rages. Victory was mine. To make it official, I ventured into the Dragon’s Den, caught a Dratini, and finally earned my eighth and final Gym Badge.
From there, I returned to Ecruteak City for one more challenge: the five Kimono Girls. I battled each of them in turn and emerged victorious, proving myself worthy of something greater. At last, I ascended Bell Tower—its sacred peak glowing with legend. There, I encountered and caught the magnificent Ho-oh, the legendary phoenix of Johto. My journey was nearing its climax.
