>that FFVIII is some kind of ultra-deep game when it is widely regarded as the most retardedly easy game to break in the entire fucking series lol
See, you didn't played the game. Here for you, you will never ever start the game for the first time ever and do all those junctions perfectly, I can guarantee you. Unless you spoil everything yourself and follow a meta guide scrupulously, it will take a lot of trials and errors to get a good result, and this is why this junction system is so good, it create a tons of replayability (which is linked with the message of the story btw), and thus, you will need to replay again and again to optimize and test many possible solution. Something that doesn't work with E33 since the emphasis here is on the motor skill of the player more than the build exploration really.
So yes, the junction system is deep, easy to break only when you have a shit tons of experience with the game (which is totally fine), it also allow those challenge runs, where the game difficulty can reach an absolute hell with some specific junction/XP combo.

>You did say that
Proves it, because I never said what you said. You are mixing 2 sentences together:
1) that was saying that E33 "isn't the spiritual successor of those games." (THOSE GAMES)
and
2) I explained what FF8 (only FF8 because I won't talk about all the games in that list obliviously) did have and how E33 doesn't have it, which is not the lack of junctions, but how the gameplay of E33 (parry system) take over the stats and build of your character, aka, the RPG part (that is on every other games of that list).
I could have talked about FF9, FFX or anything here, I only chosen FF8 because the director of E33 supposedly liked a lot this game and wanted to take inspiration from it, that's it.

>you just don't like how E33 looks
You never once showed a picture of E33, you are the one being subjective, I compared and explained why it look bad. The bad UI, the color palette...
