The memes are better, on average. There seems to be more hatred then there used to be, but I might just be more aware of it now. Almost every thread now has a lot of posts raging about almost anything: women, rival political parties, races, whatever. A lot is different because the population has changed, in that now many types of people come to this website. Back in the day a relatively small number of people spent their free time on the internet or "social media", so the culture here was far more cohesive. It was a small space away from the rest of the web for friends to hang out, and in a way, it's sort of like how /ksg/ feels juxtaposed with certain other parts of 4chan.
