Especially considering we were so deep in the covid meme at the time they really pulled out all the stops. The game broke the glass and cashed in payoffs it had been building up for years here.
>References to FF1's boxart in the opening cutscene and FF14 1.0's logo in the transition because FF14 from ARR-onwards encompasses those games and everything in between
>Letting the boss face your party 8v8
>Boss gets its own limit breaks including a level 4 limit break
>Boss can jumpscare you with Hallowed Ground and parry your LB3
>They had the balls to give you a QTE that's actually possible to fail, and it wipes the party if you do
>To The Edge is Soken's magnum opus, a song about accepting death which he literally wrote from his deathbed to work through his own feelings
I think my only complaint is that the first phase of the fight should've had another track and To The Edge should've been saved for the climactic second half. Tsukuyomi had not one but THREE boss themes for the same fight, after all. Oh, and that Elidibus' villain redemption arc robbed us of 5.0-era Elidibusposting which was probably my favourite gag of all time in these threads.
