The plot took a nose dive as soon as they started putting Elves and Elf characters at the forefront of every narrative. It left other characters becoming undeveloped stagnant messes and entire races having no storylines in years.
TBC was their first attempt at it, but honestly Legion kicked off ten years of world of Elfcraft with constant Night Elf, Void Elf, Blood Elf, etc etc shilling.
Sadly this just resulted in the franchise losing the core of what it was, gone were the days of Orcs and Humans, Warcraft. Everything had to become peaceful so the female writers mary sue Elf OCs, or characters they self inserted into could never go through any actual conflict instead constantly have the universe bend around them and justify what ever they do.

A game can have good gameplay, but it's setting is only as interesting as the writing allows and unfortunately Elf faggotry and by extension cosmic faggotry constantly surrounding Elves has made the setting nothing but a boring repetitive mess.
