I saved it because it's a really cool idea, and I've only seen one other story have the "alternative biology" idea similar to it, and that was just a smutty short story that involved a virus and some weird shit. Nothing like your idea which I thought handled the concept not just better from a biological sense, but even the way you approached it with a whole other world with an alternative society to explore, which really elevates the idea imo.
