Fucking finally.
Ukraine Sanctions Russian Journalist Yulia Latynina for "Anti-Ukrainian Narratives"
Ukraine has imposed sanctions on several individuals, including prominent Russian journalist and blogger Yulia Latynina, for their alleged involvement in information campaigns detrimental to the country's defense. The sanctions were enacted by a decree from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on July 20, 2025, following a decision by the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).
Latynina, a long-time Kremlin critic who was once seen as part of Russia's liberal opposition, is accused of promoting "anti-Ukrainian narratives" and justifying Russia's aggression. An adviser to President Zelenskyy, Vladyslav Vlasiuk, stated that the sanctions target individuals who "justify the aggressor state and its actions" and thereby create threats to Ukraine's national interests.
The sanctions list also includes former pro-Russian Ukrainian MP Nataliya Korolevska, businessman Gennadiy Balashov, blogger Andriy Serebrianskyi, and Russian "war correspondent" Tatyana Aksyonenko.
The restrictive measures are set for ten years or indefinitely and include asset freezes, bans on trade operations, revocation of any Ukrainian state awards, and the blocking of their channels and websites on Ukrainian territory.
