Rika is obsessed with Satoko in the original story already, but the other way around was fairly arguable (and of course, you could argue this obsession wasn't romantic). But he seemed to have the idea of making Satoko obsessed with Rika too years ago.
For example, one of the apparent "retcons" in Gou/Sotsu is Rika and Satoko making a promise in Matsuribayashi to stay together forever. That promise originally happened in their team story from Daybreak Mega (and old action game relased for the PSP), which had a R07 script.
