First off we are talking about champions on release, as an outlier in design. Secondly your comparing melee champions to ranged champions as if range is not a budget point. Thirdly syndra was release close to a year later and sucked ass on release and was buffed repeatedly. Fourthly you are being a condescending prick about things. Ahri had very good performance and was the most picked ban in the LCK in mid along with ryze (which is a close range mage) last I checked, if she was nothing special and did bad damage why would she be (she did good damage actually most midrange mages did awful dmg). Ahri really did just about everything you wanted from a midrange mage other than a high damage team fight ultimate (which stuff like ori ult did very little damage back then didn't cancel any dashes etc).
