Yulia Timoshenko: Agreements with Russia on the Black Sea Fleet may be cancelled

If power changes in Ukraine, Kyiv will cancel agreements on extending the stay of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Crimea. This forecast was given by Ukrainian former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.

The chairman of the Batkivshchyna faction, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, said yesterday that only Ukrainian naval forces should be based in Crimea. "I consider the signing and ratification of the "Kharkiv agreements" to be one of the key mistakes of the current president. This is an unconstitutional, anti-state and anti-Ukrainian step. Only Ukrainian naval forces should be based in Sevastopol." Mr. Yatsenyuk told journalists after the ceremonial events to mark the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus.
