Here's the thing for you people who want racism to be presented "historically accurate"

The most racially diverse groups in history are often criminal gangs. Pirates and American outlaws. Who knows how they got along or what their dynamics were, but it's a fact that it wasn't uncommon to see many black men on a pirate crew or in a robber gang. The problem is that to a modern Californian writer, the gang of criminals that are robbing, raping and murdering are better people than the white victim who has some racist views. To them, having a good opinion on race or gender trumps everything else and automatically makes you better than everyone else.
