You can't make housing affordable for the median wage earner without screwing people who already own houses. It's a choice, and each option is mutually exclusive. This is the truth that politicians won't face because they know that coming down on either side will immediately destroy their base. So we're stuck here until all of the bailout programa run dry and a liquidity crisis causes property owners to start liquidating.
