I've lost much of the respect I once held for America and its people. It feels as though the nation has abandoned its scruples, morals, ethics, and core values. The principles I believed once held the country together now seem strained, shattered, and torn apart. The very essence of the nation—and personal dignity itself—appears to be traded like scraps in a never-ending series of transactional negotiations and degrading games of one-upmanship

Growing up in the 1980s, I was obssesed with American culture—no doubt shaped by Cold War-era soft power and propaganda. Watching what America has become today is genuinely disheartening.

I'm glad my country won't be obligated to fight in anymore of their dumb wars i guess. They're on their own now.
