Sonic is fundamentally Christian. He follows the ten commandments and avoids the seven deadly sins. He doesn't worship idols, lie, steal, kill, or dishonor parental figures. He shows integrity, humility, and respect. He embodies the ethics of Christianity, even if he doesn't explicitly reference them. He shows confidence, maybe even cockiness, but not sinful pride. At time he exercises controlled, righteous anger, but not wrath. When he's angry, he's still motivated by justice, not revenge. But there is one notable exception that proves the rule, when he crosses into a deadly sin, embodied true wrath, and became Dark Sonic. And that of course was very concerning to his friends. Like us all, he's always tempted, and he's capable of falling short. Even Sonic has to choose between light and darkness. The good news is, he almost always chooses right.
