i gotta admit, Win7's BSOD scared the fuck outta me
suddenly one moment I'm good, the next everything goes black and then it's blue, printing out white text going "A problem has occurred"

what fucked me was

nowadays the BSOD is both not threatening, and not helpful (generic error instead of saying what failed, where it failed, and the error code)
