Visual novels used to make me pretty uncomfortable. Like the combination of the first person perspective and the sprites looking directly at you somehow triggered the same part of my brain that makes you want to back down from eye contact. It went away after a while, though.
It's embarrassing to admit, but Yo-kai Watch 3. In the Hazy Lane, I tried to push that phone that told the cat story to its limit, and while it wasn't even that scary, the fact that it got me at all makes me feel like a gay baby.

Gonna sound gay but the permanence of your actions is handled in a way that really fucks with you, specifically pacifist > genocide > pacifist. This one is hard to explain but I upgraded my GPU a long time ago, really shitty entry level card, AMD Diamond HD 6450. It was awful but I was young and wanted to play Skyrim and it was the best I could do. It consistently gave me problems but what always spooked me is that I would get a vertical screen crash sometimes while playing Skyrim to the point that it gave me PTSD for a long time. It would always happen in certain spots, like that waterfall cave part of Bleak Falls Barrow or while fighting the dragon at Whiterun. Even today if I was going to replay that game I'm afraid of that same crash happening and those spooky vertical lines appearing.
Horror elements themselves dont really scare me... However the anticipation of them scares me shitless.
Even the most bland zoomerslop for some reason creeps me out by a sheer POSSIBILITY of something happening, or knowing that this is where something happens, but the happening itself doesnt do shit. At worst i might get startled for quarter of a second by a jump and thats it.
Even completely unscary games like RE2R do that to me for some reason. I have no idea why, but that feels wrong.

>>714753260THEY AIRED THIS ON TV?!?
A lot of the easter eggs in Halo 3 I personally find a little unsettling.
The Cavemen are just these weird human things that bleed when you shoot them but appear to be petrified with their eyes just lifeless and staring at nothing.
Thereโs that bouncing image of some dev in boxers at the beginning of the last level that is tucked away in a dark corner just quietly bouncing up and down without making a single sound. Plus another similar image in some DLC multiplayer map.
Thereโs the whole โTrigate Mysteryโ thing which I know fuckall about despite how many videos Iโve seen on it, plus that weird looking texture in some wall way out of bounds in The Ark level. And going out of bounds in general can be a little unsettling since the world just gets more and more distorted and abstract (obviously since youโre not supposed to be there in the first place) kinda like the โBlue Hellโ areas in GTA San Andreas.
And then of course thereโs the mythical โghostsโ in the multiplayer. I remember spending hours watching all kinds of supposed ghosts on youtube. From the iconic ghost player that would glide around the map with broken movement animations and attack players to grenades and equipment being thrown around by a second player in what is supposed to be a solo lobby. Even though all these supposed ghosts could be dismissed as players just skillfully recording and editing footage to make it look real.
Not exactly Silent Hill or Amnesia, but there were a few things about this game that were just a bit unsettling.

Call it the Weird Route, that's what it's called. Enough with your fanwank shit. It's the Weird Route.
2003 or so, I was 15 years old and my parents had gone on a trip to Italy, leaving me completely home alone for a week. I was playing Clocktower 3 on a Friday night and suddenly heard banging coming from the chimney, and what I thought was a low cackling. Had two german shepherds at the time and they were freaking out, whimpering and running away from the living room. I chalked it off as maybe an opossum that somehow climbed in (even though the top was closed off, or at least small enough to make it impossible for something to climb in) so I went back to playing. Got to the cutscene where the Sledgehammer dude kills the little girl and he said "I killed... her" and I heard "yes, good..." in a woman's voice coming from the chimney. I freaked the fuck out, ran upstairs with the dogs and refused to come down until morning.
The rest of that weekend was pretty normal, but I moved the PS2 up to my room on to a much smaller TV just to be safe.
The cyclops that appear at the destiny's atrium in God of War 2
