I think the people from tiny europe have a hard time comprehending the enormity of the US rail system, mainly because of their indoctrination into the communist metric system. Any base 10 system will atrophy your brain, due to the temptation to use your fingers, rather than your brain, due to the fact that you're lazy and most of you, save for Ireland, have 10 fingers.

To put things in perspective, there are more train stations, and rail stops, in one US state, than there are in all of western europe.
