It's because socialism is making the production side independent from the customer (while still forcing them to pay for it).

Tax payer dollars -> agencies -> NGOs/government contracts ->institutional investors -> game companies

The end result is that people who are entirely focused on the aforementioned machine and view you as peons to be controlled are the ones running the show. Don't be a useful idiot and blame this on capitalism. Force them to answer to you. Destroy the socialist machine.
