i had everything planned for project epoch. cleared my schedule. told my job i had a family emergency. told my family i had work. lied to everyone just so i could disappear into this server for the next six months. i had dreams. i had spreadsheets. i had macros. i had my build path mapped out to level 60 with optimized routes and backup gear plans in case of bad RNG. i was ready to ascend.

and then... the flood.
thousands of neckbeards, keyboard warriors, and washed-up vanilla veterans all frothing at the mouth slammed into the login server at once. the gates broke. the servers died. the dreams withered. my queue froze at 32,118 for three hours before the client just gave up and crashed like it had seen what lay ahead and chose death.

i haven’t slept. haven’t eaten. i had 100€ ready to blow on dumb cosmetics, not because i needed them, but because i wanted to support the cause. i was emotionally invested. spiritually committed. and now i’m just sitting here, eyes bloodshot, heartbeat irregular, watching the discord melt into a soup of cope and despair while the devs post vague updates like “we’re looking into it” as my will to live exits stage left.

i was gonna be a menace. a raidlogger. a forum elitist. now i’m just a broken man with a dead character stuck in limbo.
