Stabler's character, the general that anhero himself, was supposed to also be an easter egg. He's named after a obscure as fuck DC character known as The Guardian, named Jim Harper, who in the comics was police officer in Metropolis' Suicide Slum, the shittiest part of the town.
In the movie he is, of course, a member of the United States Air Force, but even that he goes by the call sign "Guardian".
