Remember this guy from The Matrix? He died because despite being told he was living in a simulation, he chose to burrow deeper into the illusion of the simulation by interacting with "the girl in the red dress," the program he himself created but that ironically trapped his mind. He even tried to tempt others like Neo, "This doesn't have everything the body needs. I can make you spend time with her alone if you want." In his death scene, we see him holding two futuristic-looking, heavy machine guns. Even though he pulls the trigger, his weapons are too heavy to give him time to lift and aim properly. Now you tell me: what difference does it make if a weapon is heavy or light in the Matrix? He died because he chose to waste his life energy trapping his mind further with software of his own creation instead of using the hidden knowledge about the world that was given to him to break free from the limitations of the Matrix and reach the truth.
