Also noticed that modern stadium architecture puts an emphasis on closing the end zones. Maybe by having a small amount of seating, maybe by building an athletic facility, or a video board, but pretty much every new stadium build or large renovation will try to close the end zones off. Having larger seats helps with this for the smaller programs.
The reasons are likely two fold. One is the obvious benefit of trapping noise in the stadium while the other is about perception, where stadiums with an open end look small time. Think it was Coastal Carolina that used to have an open end zone with a bunch of trees behind the fence. Made it look like a rural high school stadium.
