Both are lame, if you are going for the demons are evil route, make them an incomprehensible force you can't punch away or control. If you keep giving them human traits like mortality, fear, arrogance, etc, people will still look for more positive traits in them because the first ones don't exist in a vacuum; on rational beings, we can understand.
