Well there are two factors here. First of all, the AI isn't properly trained on Type matchups. It probably has some information about it, but probably not enough to be consistent at it. Second of all, I deliberately left out type weaknesses for Alaina and Satoko's Pokemon in specific, because you know, they're from the anime continuity, where that's a lot more loosey goosey.
