2e d6 SW mainly introduced stuff like sliding-scale difficulty numbers (which were a bad idea) alongside a big push to unify rules and stats across all the sourcebooks. Also they stripped all the funny shit out of the books, but that's not rules-relevant.

Honestly I'm more interested in picking up some 6mm Gears and running micro-Blitz, I got priced out of the game a good while back.

If you need more Zakus now, there are a couple people on eBay still selling rafts of the old Gundam Collection 1/400 models. I just finished up my collection for running Senki the other day, now I've got almost everything that hit the field from 0078-0085 I recast a bunch of them in resin, especially for weapon options. It fixes the bendy-guns problem. Still missing a few ultra-rare odds and ends like the GM Cannon, Zaku Recon and Flipper, and the like but I did finally score a couple K-type Balls for a few bucks apiece.
