A lot of times people forget that asriel is gifted, sporty, has good grades and is loved by everyone. They are clinging to sad asriel from Undertale after you beat him in pacifist run, but i don't think he is that, like asriel was having the time of his life fighting you. but he is unable to let go of good times.

People want to make themselves into Asriel cutout who is a soft uwu boy who doesn't have to try to get a girl and date a perfect woman who is perfect without having to put any effort being perfect.
This reminds me of Brief and Panty from Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, where the soft boy dates a cool girl, but Brief is so much, he wants to help panty, he has his own hobbies of ghost hunting and actually tries to dress nice.
This even reminds me of Dexter x Blossom in FusionFall, where Blossom is flirty and dexter is all flustered.
There is no arrogance in dexter, or being a tough leader in blossom (i don't know much Power Puff Girls)
I think this is a consequence of Ralsei being exactly that. He is THE soft boi. And it's implied he may be connected to Asriel, so Asriel is like that. Only non uwu thing Ralsei did is lie by omission.
