>Rice Shower was initially not going to run in the Takarazuka Kinen at first— However, his owner wanted to boost his value as a sire and in order for that, his horse needed to win a mid-distance race. Therefore, he chose the Takarazuka Kinen as Rice Shower’s retirement race.
>During the race Rice would collapse, suffering a double injury to it's front legs. A tent was brought out for the sake of privacy and Shower was euthanized.
