They evolved without any predators or interspecies conflict. So they're socially inept because they don't have any concept of basic things like war or suicide, but that means they can invest totally into tech and whatnot. Remember Takopi solves the math problems very easily.

I forgot to post about it until now but one of the first things I noticed while watching was "oh hey Takopi looks exactly like that octopus from Wadanohara".
It's a very simple character design anybody could make, I wonder how many other characters have more or less this same design.
