Caitlyn in League lore (before they retconned it all to unify with Arcane) is the exact opposite of Arcane's cait. She had the full support of her mother, who outright paid to have her trained and had already become an established enforcer. The dynamic between her and Vi in League was that of Agent K and Agent J. She was the professional and by the books chick, while Vi was the wildcard rookie. Arcane went with the Hollywood cliche of unlikely heroes that nobody believes in saving the day. Their relationship also wasn't gay... that was only a thing pushed by people in the fanbase and then Riot after it became political "cool" to do... like they've done with Diana and Leona...
