I think the world of league is interesting, even if they have a tendency to squander it. Exploring Darius and Draven could actually be awesome assuming they don't turn their pandering bullshit up to 11 again like S2.

I liked the Jayce Viktor story line a lot in season 1, but it wasn't the primary reason for watching for me. Zaun vs Piltover and Jinx vs Vi was.

My problem with Noxus per se is that it's no Piltover/Zaun. Piltover/Zaun had this incredible Tale of Two Cities dynamic, which was incredible and exploited incredibly. And it really fit perfectly with Jinx. I do love JaVik's story in S1, and in no small part because it folded beautifully into the wider Tale of Two Cities direction. To our limited knowledge of Noxus, its some kind of fighting culture/empire. There are some historical dynamics they could go - Mortal Kombat style grand tournament for the world, or Korra/Avatar style conquering epic. BUT Mel is soooo out of place in these directions. But we'll see.

Honestly I only care about Jinx, I miiighht watch the Noxus one if I'm bored. And funnily enough about the cinematic, if you look at the comments people STILL think its about arcane.

Yee was there in 2009 when League dropped. Christian was there in 2010, although he only became invovled i think in 2011. They were planning it since 2015. These people basically helped create League, Arcane is the manifestation of ~15 years of work to put actual lore into LoL. Cupcake is a joke based on her in-game traps. She used to use cupcakes as bait, which was a joke itself. There's also the fact that Cait is prim and proper, while Vi is not. Vi's character is pretty much 1:1, except she's far less conflicted about beating up her own kind. In fact, Ekko hates her because of what she's become. Vi just enjoys the chase and capturing criminals, not caring how much she hurts them (as mentioned, she enjoys doing it). This was before politics were able to overtake Riot and the idea of an abusive cop isn't allowed anymore, unless it's to be shamed. Vi is also supposed to be way taller than Caitlyn. I don't know why they made her so short. Maybe it's a lesbian thing.
