Combat medic of the 3rd Assault Brigade, Maryna Hrytsenko, was killed by a Russian drone while carrying out a combat mission.
Maryna was 39 years old. She had worked for many years as the chief custodian of museum collections. After the start of the full-scale invasion, Maryna lived in the museum with her daughter to protect the exhibits from Russian looters.
In February 2023, Maryna joined the 3rd Assault Brigade, where she served as a gunner-medic and later as a combat medic. For her courage and dedication on the front line, in January 2025, she was awarded the Order For Courage (3rd Class) by the President of Ukraine.
Beyond her service, Maryna was actively involved in the Ukrainian scouting organization Plast, where she mentored children affected by the war.
Maryna's daughter is 15.
