>"Three uninterrupted days of reorganizing books. Can you think of anything more relaxing?" (00:13)
>"There is one last variable that we haven't accounted for. [...] (You)!" (12:40)
>"No.. The Princess of Friendship can't get jealous..." (18:03)
So, this episode is probably one of my favourite Discord episodes. It just perfectly encapsulates what his character is about post-reformation: Just messing with other ponies' heads in a way that he construes as some kind of friendship lesson without really being able to know why he chose to do that. It is really good at putting yourself into Twilight's horseshoes as even the viewer has no idea why the other ponies are suddenly so close friends with Discord - the things he and the other ponies laugh at just don't make sense to you or Twilight, especially after they begin talking about that experience with the hose / snake. What is shown is pretty relatable with the episode being about not understanding insider jokes and that just makes the episode more enticing to me.
I also like that for most of the part you are second-guessing if Discord even did something malicious to Twilight or if he really just bonded with them over a weekend since there are not many obvious moments of him visibly enjoying Twilight's frustration - he even tries to help her with the reenactment, but does so in a way where it could both be interpreted as him wasting time over innocuous details or him trying to semi-genuinely help her at the moment. Well, and the conclusion to that reenactment scene is pretty clever with Discord turning Twilight's autism her by pointing out that the scene can never be recreated because Twilight will always be something that will not fit into the scene. Kind of suggesting here as well that if Twilight would have been there for the weekend that they would not have had as much fun in a subtle way; ouch. Discord is just pretty enjoyable in this episode overall: Not really acting like an asshole and just having fun with the other ponies - even if he did it just to mess with Twilight.
I love how Twilight is just coping that she isn't jealous and that she just tries to study their friendship because she needs to know as the Princess of Friendship. Her being adamant about them drinking the antidote and her friends' reactions over this all is also pretty entertaining with Rarity just pouring the liquid under the table and all that. I also enjoyed Spike's banter with Twilight with him acting as a straightman.
The best part of the episode is probably Twilight's emotional breakdown after her coping has come to a dead end and she needs to face the fact that she really is jealous and wasted her time sorting books while her friends made all those great memories. Damn... stop being so relatable. Rainbow's deadpan: "It's funny if you were there (lol, EPIC)!" right before her breakdown is also just fucking hilarious.
