Rigvedic Aryans originally had no problem eating cow meat or sacrificing cows. They didn't think cows were holy or anything, they just valued cows for milk and as a symbol of wealth.
It's genuinely bizarre that Hindus began believing cow shit and piss was sacred at some point. The devout ones unironically believe it's some kind of holy medicine that's spiritually cleansing.
