I feel like this always gets overlooked because, as you said, the improvement wasn't as dramatic as with EGS, but it happened all the time and so gradually that you can only notice when you compare some of the first and last chapters Anne drew

Also, I think its commendable that the comic was never afraid to punch above its weight in terms of visual storytelling due to lack of skill, sure, action sequences may look clunky and awkward but, hey, you learn by doing
