I haven't gotten into archaeology mods, whether pre- or post-vanilla archaeology, but Prehistoric Nature has a downright autistic amount of fossil creatures to resurrect or mount in your own personal museum. There are even addons that let you build portals to the Cambrian or Carboniferous or any other age the mod adds fossils from. I'm not sure if there are any modpacks that include it, but I use it and the addons in my own personal modded 1.12.2 instance. I think there are some integrations with some tech mods, too, but I don't tend to enjoy those so I don't install them.
