Something interesting this pack does is give you as pre-built mob farm (or more specifically, all of the contents in a barrel and a schematicannon with which to build it) to start with - it has two levers, one that turns on/off the lights and one that opens up the slot to kill mobs manually (there is no automatic kill system).
I find it not too bad - the mob spawn rate is ok (there's only 5 blocks of this version's equivalent of cursed earth below these vector plates) and it took zero effort to make.
I'm going to need to use it as my first source of source - the vitalic sourcelink is the only source generator I have access to, and I need to progress through ars to continue.

What are my options for nicer looking weather in 1.20? It seems like 90% of the mods I run into either disable weather or try to turn it into a midwest trailer park during tornado season.
Does anyone know which of the RPG Series mods adds enchantments or if it's all of them individually? I'm getting shit like Amplify Spell and Soulfrost on tools that make absolutely no use of them. I feel like I've used these mods before without these enchantments showing up on tools.
Another masterpiece from the interior design god. I don't know how he does it. But you are now aware stuff from the furniture mod can be placed inside copycat blocks. That includes copycat slabs and bytes. Very wild and very useful.

Stack that with debuffs and their insane health and damage output and they're just plain miserable to fight. Flesh liches combine especially poorly with the big open caves of 1.18+ worldgen. Get caught in the open and suddenly you're on fire with little indication of where it came from. Unfortunately I'm playing it on a friend's server and he refuses to tweak the configs for any of this. Might just have to retreat to singleplayer and a different modpack.
Lots of fun stuff happening on PathSerb. Here is a test fight in the new arena (located at the former Birch Forest station).
Big customisable fights can happen here, the floor can be changed out during the battle and the place can be flooded too for trident fights. Insanely fun to play and to watch.

That's always the issue with worldgen mods, even the smaller ones. It's just a matter of time before they spawn something utterly retarded. All I run at this point is ruins, and even that is sometimes kind of iffy.

Why hasn't there been an attempt at a simple, clean, maybe even vanilla+ infection mod? No stages/phases, no biomass points, just a biome that slowly encroaches across the land with dangerous mobs?
It was quite easy I must say, granted I used the op sword he just gave me mid game. All in all a fun time, 9/10 would recommend. I loved the end where all the buildings were upside down like castlevania, and now it's making me want to play that game since i've never tried it.

I've moved my enchanting apparatus over to a different area, although I need to get all of my ars stuff near. It's a decent setup to get source (although I need to kill the mobs myself).
At this point I have access to actual iron and gold, and my next steps look to be getting my coke oven and blast furnace set up. Both of those will require some create assembly line stuff though, which will be a huge pain to find space for (the eternal create problem - building with it is so cumbersome).
Steel is one of the things I need for a mana pool though - in addition to being one of the big progression points of the pack, it also unlocks menril trees and I really like using menril wood as a building block.

Just how important is organisation and optimisation in Create:A&B?
I'm trying really hard to keep everything discrete, traversable and gridded to chunk boundaries, I did none of that on my first playthrough and remember spending just about as much time troubleshooting my assembly lines as I did making them. Also planning for the main line to wrap around and descend with the staircase from the ground floor, to save on time spent running back and forth in the later chapters. Is any of this all that necessary or can you easily beat the pack by just winging everything and fixing problems as they appear?

The pirate minigame is finished. Its 100% playable, resettable and has sound effects and team play start.(can only be started with 2+ players)
scavenge your ships for items, gear up, and battle the other ship.
Cannans can fire:
-Cannonballs (break blocks but do not explode or ignite TNT)
-Bombs (do damage, explode and ignite TNT, but don't break blocks)
-Mob spawn eggs (be warned, this shoots the mob itself, not the egg, so arch your shots high)
-Fire charges (set the enemy player ship on fire and will eventually ignite the black powder storage)
You'll find everything else you need on your respective ship, or plunder the other teams.
Remember to bring nothing into the arena, and sleep in a bed before you do (if you don't want to end up at home instead of play a second round.
If you're having trouble opening boxes, sleeping in beds, etc, try clicking with an item (not placeable like weapon etc.) or empty hand.
To "end the game" the last player alive has to kill themself, its the only realistic way for now, I will add another mechanic later.

Finally got my create ad-hoc assembly line set up. This is to make blast brick (the last one was for coke brick) - I'm still waiting on a bit of creosote to finish it, but after that I should have steel.
It wasn't even hard to set up, I just had to make a platform to place it. I haven't really looked at what my goals are after this, I think I have to look through Elementalcraft (a mod I've never used before) to eventually get to a mana pool and manasteel (which takes a special kind of steel to make).

I've set up mechanics now so if you teleported there from spawn, you can only teleport back to spawn, if you arrived from the desert around the arena, you can only return to the desert. so you don't need to travel for an hour just to play games.

This forcibly kills the java process running minecraft, preventing it from saving the world to disk. You might lose a couple minutes but not as much as going back to a backup that was done 30 or 2 hours ago.
You have to be quick about it since the game saves to disk periodically, and you have to make sure you do not open the game menu (i.e. do it from the death screen, or open inventory then alt-tab). If you hit escape or otherwise pause the game (from alt-tabbing while just standing around after respawning), it will cause an immediate save.
MMC and probably its derivatives let you kill the process from the log, that probably works the same.
In Windows 7 you could use the end task button in the task manager, but windows 10 treats this button like you hit the X on the program window rather than actually killing the task, which lets the program run all its closing threads first and causes a save.

Kind of hitting a bit of a lull in FTB Skies Expert. I want to fully automate everything, but without access to AE2 (or really any great tools) it's just a lot of batching over and over.
I really want to play once I get there, but it might be a bit too much of a slog. Primarily it's because I need to learn a few mods (elementalcraft especially is annoying), and I have to keep making new platforms for every mod (which are all bulkier than 1.12 mods, create especially).
Getting the manasteel mesh was a huge deal (picrel, I have access to so many metals now) though, so maybe this blogpost is just too rambling.

It was an advertisement for a mod that never came out and seems to have been removed from Yt. It was one of my favorite videos.
I have a question about Create.
So I know a system always rotates at the fastest input speed.
So for instance, if I have 8 waterwheels, but I double one wheel's output speed with a cog ratio, if the remaining 7 are connected to the output cog they will spin at that doubled speed.
but does it affect their stress unit output? Because gear ratios affect the stress output of anything they're connected to. That one wheel outputting doubled RPM is also outputting halved stress unit power.
If it doesn't halve their stress unit output to match the gear ratiod wheel, then you can effectively get free 256 speed from any power source with no stress unit loss just by hooking up a sacrificial cogged-to-fuck waterwheel or deployer hitting a hand crank or whatever.
And a 256 cheat rpm windmill would be only a 3x3x32 block profile, potentially just 1x1x128 I think that works, outputting twice the SU of an active steam engine piston, for incredibly cheaper, 1 stack wool, 2 stacks sticks, 1 stack andesite alloy.

I've always preferred elytra flight over jetpacks and whatnot, and so far I've found only two ways to "boost": The elytra booster from the artifacts mod, and the gem armor from ProjectE. (Maybe there's an Ars Nouveau spell that does this too - I'm not sure)
Does anyone know of other means of doing this, or other kinds of flight that sort of feels the same way?

The central chest (bottom center) collects tomatos, honeycomb, and honey bottles from the bees.
Tomatos + rotten go to the left into a 1 block create crafter (behind andesite funnel) to convert into seeds, pushed up, into basin to be pressed into vegetable oil. Vegetable oil deposits itself into the item drain in front, extracted by mechanical pipe to the central basin.
Honey bottles go out the right side to be fed into crafter to be converted into sugar. These are pushed up, sugar into basin to be mixed with water (passive supply) and spider eyes (manual input) into ethanol. Bottles are extracted by logistical transporter to the right to cycle back to beehives. As before, ethanol dumps itself into a drain which is extracted by pipes to the central basin. There is a secondary output of fermented spider eyes that have to be collected too. Honeycomb go out the belt with honey bottles, but they are captured in transit to be processed into honey bottles, not pictured.
Central basin combines 100ml vegetable oil+ethanol into 200mb biodiesel, which supplies diesel generators for 2112 SU at 96 RPM ea, 1mb/tick consumption rate. This is the main source of SU (with the diesel having further processing into more potent forms and upgraded diesel gens).
There's got to be an easier way to do the fluids. The problem on the right side is that a mechanical pipe will just extract the input water if it is not filtered somehow. You can't filter mek fluid pipes and laserio is not accessible. I could use IE pipes and the fluid router, I guess. That's the reason for the drain, since the basin only pushes outputs instead of exposing the inputs for extraction.
I could also rip out all the belts and use 1 mechanical arm. Then each source can have its own supply and the inputs filtered individually.

Why isn't this setup working as a stack splitter? The one in the middle worked exactly as intended until I disassembled it to find out what made it different (it was identical to the others), and now it doesn't work either. Making making an unbreaking tool is particularly expensive in newer versions. By default it takes 5 upgrade slots and I don't think you can fit anything else (/maybe/ one more upgrade) after doing so, because you start with 2 and can add 3 or 4 from native methods. (Music disc, dragon head, book and quill, I think end crystal?)

I'm starting to do some prototyping on the Castle Siege scenario.
So far I have two Ideas and I'm not sure which is more fun.
1.) Large castle on one end of the map, battelfield/large expanse in front of it (perhaps a moat). Attacking team spawns with horses, you charge and dodge cannonfire or bowfire (maybe some custom effects like hot oil) and try to scale the walls. Either kill all members of the defending team, or reach the belltower to ring the bell, killing all remaning players on the other team.
2.) Slower paced but more "gamified" map. Attackers are free to choose a few routes, like dark forest area, swamp, open plain, to reach the castle. Gain entrance in one of a number of ways like charging the gate (fastest but riskiest), entering through the sewers (slow but less vulnerable) and at least one other entrance I haven't thought up yet. Then same, kill the defending players or ring the bell to win.
The defending team in this scenario could press buttons to trigger traps or spawn mobs in each approach zone.
Thoughts and or ideas I might not have thought of?

Why doesn't The Twilight Forest have addons like the Aether does with new biomes, structures, mobs, blocks, etc? The Aether hasn't even consistently been updated to newer versions like the Twilight Forest was, but it already has four different expansions.
