keeping an open mind and understanding that the joy and appeal is in the impossibility. nobody likes being told "oh that's not realistic" when talking about their whimsy or fantasy, you gotta be supportive in helping their imagination run wild. that doesn't apply to just BIG enjoyers, anyone who has an interest in something fantastical, embarassing or niche tends to really love when you participate, and it lets you see a side of them they don't show anyone else, kind of like a nerdy guy rambling about his favorite interests; it's when they're at their happiest, and you get to nurture and be a part of that.
