You Can't Win, by Jack Black (not the chicken jockey guy). I think ti would be amazing as a comic or an animated movie, but it's probably too obscure to ever be made.
Fearsome Creatures of the Lumberwoods, With a Few Desert and Mountain Beasts by William Cox is also a good one, nice survey of old American tall tales with good illustrations like pic rel.
