If you're talking about DEEN SN, it's fine (I tend to defend it more than 99% of anons here do) but it has the common issue of making Shirou look retarded by not using his monologue (which was where 3/4 of his character came from) at all besides rare cases when it's turned into spoken words.
Even just by reading the Fate route of the VN you can grasp that he's way more caring and attentive than he looks at first.
