it can. it happened with me when i was 16 i started smoking weed and by 18 i was a felon and put into the psych ward and they studied my brain put suction cups on it and stuff. i wasnt allowed to leave the hospital for 30 days and when i left they told my parents i was paranoid schizophrenic. also when i was in rehab there was a girl there that would hallucinate and talk to imaginary friends. they said it was because of meth.
