Even in countries where you aren't allowed to own any sort of weapon specifically designed for self defense, if you end up using this to bash a thief's head in a judge could argue that even though it's set up as a table, it's clearly made and advertised as a weapon so you'd still get charged. You're actually better off just having a regular bat and a bunch of other baseball equipment. Then when you use it for home defense, you could simply argue that you like to play baseball and the bat is for that purpose, so you didn't technically own a weapon for self defense.
You have to find the weird loopholes. Like brass knuckles aren't allowed in Canada and you'd get charged as if you were carrying a deadly weapon if the cops found one on you, but "brass" knuckles made out of a hard plastic resin that would do just as much damage? Those are fine, because those materials aren't codified in the law.
