If you took more time to investigate this autism you might realize that Spider-Man's unique appeal is the coming-of-age story he is a part of and the integral role character development and progression has to his canon. Marvel in general also benefited from this and featured stories that changed the heroes and left them with large consequences for years to come like Secret Wars 1.
MJ and OMD represent the progression the book used to have and now doesn't. It also is telling you assume that there is a constant wave of angry fans demanding MJ back all the time when you haven't seen the utter apathy everybody has had towards this franchise. To each their own I guess.
