In terms of television and movie production, deleting a part of a 3D model is not something easily done on a whim. If it's in-house work by Sunrise, it still means they would need to double-check that they didn't accidentally fuck with any of the 3D animations, re-render all of the scenes, re-do all the digital compositing, submit the footage to be re-edited by video editing team into the final product.
