Bro two characters competing, especially in a MULTIPLAYER SIDE MODE, does not make them rivals. Nothing even remotely suggests that Sonic and Tails had a rivalry in the classic games. Tails was inspired by Sonic and wanted to be like him, their relationship was devoid of any conflict whatsoever. I have problems with Maekawa too but he's not nearly as bad as Ian and you should stop making up shit

I'm not saying he was useless in that game. He contributes in some way in pretty much any game he's in. I was mainly talking about Tails not being allowed to fight because Sonic was the only playable character
