Rise HH is a fair bit different from the Horn you know, but it's far from bad. Give it a try. Regardless of how you end up feeling about it, it'd be wise to keep a slashing weapon on your back pocket so you can get them tails off them monsters. I recommend GS, SnS, Lance, and SA, as they are incredibly fucking fun and strong in MHR, but any of the others will do the job, of course.
