I feel like there was a nice, healthy, rising dislike of RNG, but Roguelites, BG3, and Gacha have shifted people towards tolerating it, or even thinking it's a good/necessary thing in your game.
I think it has a place in procedural content generation, but I don't want to miss, or crit, or succeed/fail things due to a dice roll. I want my tools for tackling the content to be consistent.
