Why do you think it wasn't until we started stuffing ourselves every 4 hours that cancer and diabetes started going into full throttle? Fasting gets pretty easy after one or two times to break through the mental hurdles, though 72 hour fasts are about 90% as effective as 7 day ones and less intrusive on your life so better just do one every couple months than one or two 7 day fasts a year.
