yeah the T pattern is really powerful it depicts perspective in a subtle way, is the barebones of overlapping.

thanks dude, you are proficient I've seen the other work you jhave posted and i look very loose and fluid, but i feel you would benefit from lightly sketching before I feel that your pencil work goes into detail way too soon and that constraints your ability to fix stuff (from the looks of the cat's tail I know you are not afraid of fixing things mid way) if sketching lightly is not comfortable you can sketch in different color, for example non photo blue.

The other thing you can do is to start observing more art to increase your visual literacy, the more you observe, analyze and copy the more language you have to solve things, the nose is from what I remember from john singer sargent - emilio bassi portrait.
