We should listen em pathetically, but their subjective feelings are not objective and they're not arbiters of objective reality. Psychology and Talk therapy are built upon trying to change people's perspectives so that they're more amenable to the external world, rather than trying to fight it all the time. It's literally an anti-therapy movement, and ultimately a misery cult, because it endlessly encourages people to freak out over everything.
